Upon arrival in Luxor, the first visit is scheduled to the impressive Karnak Temple complex, the largest of its kind in the world. Here, you can walk in the footsteps of Ramses II, one of the most powerful pharaohs of all time. After exploring the Karnak Temple, it's time for lunch. Enjoy authentic Egyptian cuisine at a local restaurant.

The "Great Four of Egyptian history" include the Pyramids of Giza, the Karnak Temple in Luxor, Abu Simbel in Aswan, and the Valley of the Kings in West Thebes (near Luxor). In the afternoon, you'll see the latter with your own eyes and follow in the footsteps of Howard Carter, the discoverer of Tutankhamun's tomb, as you visit three of the most magnificent tombs.

At the end of this crescent-shaped valley rises a pyramid-shaped mountain, which seems to surround the next stop on your sightseeing tour from behind: the Temple of Hatshepsut, which is even visible from Luxor. Like Ramses II, Hatshepsut ruled during the New Kingdom and was a very successful queen, one of the few female pharaohs.
