Hurghada to Cairo and Alexandria | 3 Days

Our private guided three-day tour takes you to the pyramids of Dahshur and to Egypt’s two largest cities: Cairo, the intriguing and vibrant metropolis along the Nile, and Alexandria, famous for Alexander the Great and the legendary queen Cleopatra. During this trip, you will not only visit the major attractions but also have the opportunity to get to know the country and its people better.

Egyptian Museum Cairo

Day 1
You will depart early in the morning from Hurghada to Cairo, where your first stop is the Egyptian Museum. This museum houses a wealth of stunning exhibits that immerse you in the ancient history of Egypt. The collection is so extensive that you could easily spend two weeks viewing all the displays. After the museum visit, a lunch at a local restaurant awaits you.

Following lunch, you will visit the Giza Plateau, where you will be greeted by the last remaining wonder of the ancient world. Marvel at the grandeur of the three mighty pyramids of Giza! They rise majestically above the nearby Cairo and continue to stand as testaments to the distant power of the ancient pharaohs, even thousands of years later. The pyramids are still guarded by the ancient Sphinx, a creature that is part human and part animal, symbolizing both human wisdom and animal strength.

Alexandria

Day 2
We will depart for Alexandria, located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. The city was founded in 331 BC by the Macedonian general Alexander the Great and quickly grew into an important political, economic, and intellectual center of the eastern Mediterranean. This was largely due to the port planned by Alexander and the famous Library of Alexandria.

Our program begins with a visit to the Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa, where you can explore tombs from the Roman period. Next, we will head to the city center, where you can admire the Kom el-Dikka Amphitheater, which was rediscovered in 1963. This amphitheater is the only known Roman amphitheater in Egypt and is renowned for its beautiful mosaics.

Directly at the harbor, where once stood one of the ancient wonders of the world, the "Pharos of Alexandria," is the Qaitbay Fort, built in the 15th century AD under Mamluk rule. After visiting the fortress, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, after which we will return to Cairo. The rest of the afternoon and evening is free time for you to spend as you wish.

Enjoy some leisure time at your hotel or explore Cairo on your own during an evening walk.

Dahshur-plateau

 Day 3
After breakfast and checking out of the hotel, you will travel to the Dahshur Plateau, located south of Cairo, where the pyramids and tombs have been on the World Heritage List since 1979. You will visit the Red Pyramid and the Bent Pyramid, both built for King Snefru, the first pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty. The Red Pyramid, constructed around 2620 BC, is approximately 110 meters tall and is the third tallest pyramid in Egypt, named for the reddish color of the stones used in its construction. Slightly further south stands the so-called Bent Pyramid. Its unusual shape, which sets it apart from all other Egyptian pyramids, was not originally planned and resulted from unexpected issues during construction. To ensure the stability of the building, the builders had to adjust the pyramid’s angle. The interiors of both pyramids have been open to the public only for a few years and are, of course, part of our tour. After lunch, we will conclude our journey at the famous Khan el-Khalili Bazaar in Cairo. If you're still missing a souvenir, you’re sure to find it here! We will then safely return you to your hotel in Hurghada.
