Day 1: Arrival in Cairo - City Tour - Pyramids of Giza - Sphinx - Step Pyramid of Saqqara

The excursion program begins with a city tour, a unique experience that you will soon discover with wonder! Cairo's traffic, with its diverse vehicles, may initially seem overwhelming and fascinating to observe. Next, you will visit the world-famous pyramids at the Giza Plateau. The Great Pyramid of Giza is the last remaining wonder of the ancient world, about 4,600 years old, and with a volume of approximately 2.6 million cubic meters, it was the tallest building in the world for over 4,000 years. Admire the grandeur of the three imposing pyramids of Giza! They majestically rise above nearby Cairo and continue to testify to the distant power of the ancient pharaohs, still guarded by the ancient Sphinx, a hybrid creature of man and beast, symbolizing both human wisdom and animal strength. Although Oedipus solved its riddle, archaeologists still debate its exact age; it is generally attributed to Pharaoh Chephren.

You can process the many new impressions during lunch at an authentic Egyptian restaurant serving local specialties.

Next, we will visit the Saqqara necropolis, where you can explore the Step Pyramid of Pharaoh Djoser. Saqqara, located about 20 km south of Cairo, has a completely different atmosphere from the Giza Plateau. The era of pyramid building in Egypt began with the Step Pyramid of Djoser from the 3rd Dynasty, designed and constructed by the famous architect Imhotep. At approximately 62 meters high, it is the ninth tallest pyramid in Egypt. After a day full of activities, it’s time to relax. We have reserved a room for you in a 5-star hotel. The rest of the day and evening are yours to enjoy at your leisure.

Day 2: Egyptian Museum - Alabaster Mosque - Khan el-Khalili Bazaar

After breakfast and checking out of the hotel, your second day in Cairo begins with a visit to the Egyptian Museum. This venerable 120-year-old building, located in the heart of the metropolis, houses thousands of exhibits that will immerse you directly in the fascinating history of Egypt. As you bid farewell to the pharaohs, you can now immerse yourself in the Arab world of Egypt: from the Citadel of Saladin and the Alabaster Mosque, you will enjoy breathtaking views of Cairo with its countless minarets. Of course, you can also visit the mosque. After lunch, it’s time to put your bargaining skills to the test, as haggling is a must during your next visit to the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar! After the transfer to Cairo airport and landing in Hurghada, one of our staff members will meet you at the airport and escort you safely back to your hotel.
